Has anyone heard the results of the bull sale at K-Bar? Was interested in the 7/8ths SHORTHORN of Steck's.Dean said he was one of the best "Horns"he'd ever seen.

Just Found out that the White Shorthorn Bull in Western Bull Bash brought $6500.00 He went to the past owners of Double Stuff, Double Vision, and High Roller. Wendell Dunn,Elk City[Canute] Oklahoma. Semen will likely be offered on this bull. He is called "Buddy Love" 7/8ths Shorthorn sired by Sonny out of a Double Vision/Draftpick cow. He tested th and pha free and was bred and raised by DJS Shorthorns of Knoxville,Illinois. Dean Kephart told us he thought he was one of the best looking Shorthorns he ever seen,including the three mentioned above,as he was co-owner with Wendell Dunn.Hopefully between this Sonny son and Ivy League,"Sonny's" reputation will be restored as a breeder of good bulls,and not just good females.

John do you know if they are going to sell semen on him? I have a few cows I think he would click with. I really liked him in pictures. WOuld like to see video but he also has a decent pedigree.

Correction: Buddy Love is TH Free and PHA Carrier, I believe there is also a full brother to him named Free 4 All that is clean both ways. I have not seen a picture of him since him was a calf though.

I stand corrected on the pha status of Buddy Love. Yes I believe Wendell will sell semen on him. Not sure if that is fact,just by the way Dean Kephart talks,I would say yes.

I agree, VERY nice bulls.  I was actually talking to my dad last night about there not being many Sonny sons out there really hittin it hard. Looks like these two, plus Ivy League, could be bringing that back.

I hope all of these Sonny sons are good producers. I have been very dissapointed ,not being able to find one of his sons that will breed anything like he did.

It would be hard to beat a good pha carrier Sonny son I would think. Some pretty creative breeding. Is there any Shorthorns out there that go to heatseeker or heat wave?
