Hey red which Triple X, Joel Brooks in IL has a Vortec son called Triple X.  We bred Cherry Bomb to some really sound maternal type cows . I'll let you know in a few months.

I've had good luck w/ him on my Foreplay line. But he is a THC so be careful on what you bred him to.

OH Breeder,
Are you special selecting your cows to go with each bull?  Do you do that by the type of calf the cow produced the year before or by some other guidelines?

I have some cows that no matter who they are bred to we get a great calf, but I have some that only nick with certain bulls.  I like the ones that nick with anything, but unfortunately I do not know that until they have calved and sometimes until they have had their second calf.

I have cows that have their third calf this year and it is a very good calf that in years past have only had a good one.  I have an older cow that has the worse calf she has raised.  I was hoping she would nick with a really well know bulls and I could sell a bull out of the union.  Unless things change pretty fast the November bull will be a steer.

So, why do you breed the way you do?  Are all you cows pretty well uniform in breed and statue?

Thanks,
joe boy
