What can I do to put weight on a steer?

I have a steer that needs to gain atleast 50-60 pounds in the next 17 days to make our county fair's weigh-in. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but he just doesn't seem to be very aggressive about eating, and doesn't gain as much as he should be on the amount of feed he is eating. I would really appreciate any comments about things you have tried or know about to put weight on a calf fast.

Maybe try some Sullivan's appetite express or give him some probiotics. Also make sure he is getting a free choice of water, because water in the main ingredient when it comes to getting them to eat.
