What is a good shorthorn bull?

What is a good show quality shorthorn bull for my heifer?  She is a good looking heifer but i thank she needs a better front and rear end to her.  She is big boned and is going to be a big cow.  she is all white.  I was looking at American Outlaw but i don't know to much about him.  I need a easy calve because she is a heifer and I don't want to take any risks.  Any comments will help.  I am open to any suggestions.

American outlaw or any other clubby shorthorn is an  invitation to disaster-its a little difficult if you dont even know what the H44567l your hiefer is , One of the best calving ease-makes em thick-showy PROVEN shorthorn sires is ALM CHILLER-and the calves are GOOD. Jakes proud jazz might even be better-sounds like a big rangy hiefer- DO NOT-READ MY LIPS-DO NOT-breed a shorthorn clubby-without some history and thought behind the DEAL O0

Talk to MBAR on here about "Fat Head". I don't know how much of a calving ease bull he is - he told me that the first calves are just getting ready to hit the ground while I was in Denver. If she is going to be a big cow, he may be just what you are looking for. RW

I wouldnt breed something unknown to him -hes massive-(which is a good thing) but goes back immediately to non-hiefer genetics- for lack of a better description-this is save the hiefer territory-and if you dont know the hiefer-sorry-he isnt safe O0

Ace of Diamonds can/is used on first calf heifers.The folks who bred AOD have used him numerous times on first calf heifers,with no problems.We used him on two heifers with no problems.

  I am partial to our bull  Wild Side. He is PH clean , TH clean, polled, outcross pedigree and semen is cheap. He is $15 at Genetic Horizons. Certs are $15. He is relative calving ease and calves are very easy to sell. He should down size a bigger cow and give a killer look. I attached photos of Wild side as a calf taken at Iowa. The mature picture was taken in pasture during the summer. He will be 9 in July and still breeding cows. Sound as a cat and meaner than H#!!. Not bad considering the bulls that came out the same year have all gone away.

I ditto the above bull... we have a son as our lead herd sire..  When wanting to make stout, moderate, easy fleshing made, SOUND, CLEAN calves of either sex- that are outcross; Wildside is n option..

IMO their are other shorthorn bulls out there that can do some, or most of the things I mentioned, but not all of them...  One three letter bull will hail atop many people's list's... but then again, we all have an opinion...

 JPJ has a place like any bull....is he the answer...NO. Small easy fleshing does not equal performance. I 'm not a hater of the bull,my new yearling sire is a Jazz son. jazz cattle seem easy to feed and very quite cattle. I really feel Capiche well fizzle out as fast as he was hyped.I do not hate the bull, but what is his place? TM Gus...pure power. Massive bone, big footed right for the times kind of bull. Commercially he is white..no go. I love the bull.  Capt Obv. no opinion. I just like to talk shop and the above views and comments are just that.

We have had some great calves from Sin City. We used him on one of our heifers that is very large, and they turned out pretty great! Great calving ease!

Sin City was great calving ease for all of the heifers we have used him on. We have gotten 2 excellent bulls out of him.

no they didn't.  they started out from a breed called mancelle, and were then crossed with shorthorn.

a little birdy told me that we will soon know how related they are to angus and shorthorn.

though it's debatable what mancelle started out as, as far as utility, references are that they were used for beef, milk and draft and are from a group of cattle known as parthenaise.
