I was planning on flushing this heifer after her first calf, not real sure on what to flush her to. I was thinking something like monopoly or yellow jacket but open to any suggestions.

Monopoly is a good choice along with Walks Alone or maybe Eye Candy. Stay away from Yellow Jacket as I believe she has to much leg under her. If you want maternal I would look at Maverick or Shu.

I really would like to stouten her up add a little bone. Does walks alone have that? Seen some great calves but haven't seen him in person an didn't know what kind of cow he worked on. Mark, what's that long time coming I've never heard of him?

We have a SB / Full Throttle cow with a Walks Alone bull calf that we are keeping as a herd bull that is packed with muscle and a WIDE rear.

Mark, what's that long time coming I've never heard of him? Walks Alone definitely, hes terminal as they come-check out the freaky red hiefer in cattle for sale-scary thick.Long Time Coming was at Denver 2011-hes really sound-got:  Meyer-Clubby-and Shorthorn Clubby-double clean-lot of performance. With her ped there are many options:I personally also like Smilin Bob-because hes more of a combo of clubby-with some performance-and sires very sound calves from what Ive seen, along with the Heatwave are Char-Simm. and an extrememly good cow. i'd say more bulls are like that than not, especially maine's.  has little to do with unlimited power specifically but more so the breed.  why else would people be endlessly trying to change the breed if it didn't have those "problems".

Here's my opinion and it doesn't mean much at all. BUt....some of the monopoly calves I have seen this year didn't have a ton of bone if the cow was smaller or finer made. He might click real well on your gal with her being Maine. I guess are you wanting the calves for clubby replacements or maine. Strictly Business from my experience has not been a super milker. She looks like she has nice udder development. If I were to go Maine- You might consider Taz yeah an older but a goodie or Irish Whiskey. There are alot of Maine breeders here that should be able to tell you old and new genetics what works. OCC LEgend and Northern Improvement are two angus sires that make great replacement females.

There are so many options out there today. When flushing i would just think strongly about end product. If you are going to go to the trouble of flushing has she had a calf? Or are you going to flush a virgin heifer? If it were me, I would want a calf out of her and then flush her. Breed for calving ease flush later after a calf or two.

If I were to go clubby can never go wrong with Heat Wave, I am really liking the Boardwalk calves I have seen this year out of average and above average cows he is producing those chubby easy feeding type calves. Bojo still kind of new like Boardwalk but seems to have a nice first set. Walks Alone has been putting out some good ones. Heat Seeker will shave the leg off her and Who Made Who will keep your rocket front and give you some attractive patterned females.

Wyatt, not exactly I have some time she's currently bred for a natural calf out of a limflex bull, I've narrowed it down to walks alone or eye candy, I haven't really seen the kind of females I like out of eye candy, but think she can help produce those females. Walks alone I think would drop her frame score and stouten her up just a touch and add to the already great amount of hair. Thanks to everyone who gave thier opinions they are always much appreciated, if I get enough these embryos will be for sale next fall.

Walks alone or irish whiskey all day long on that one!!! I dont believe the monopolys would be stout enough to slick and I personally believe the eye candys are too plain fronted for the south in saying that. Irish whiskey will make dang good females but also a good chance at herd bulls/steers. Walks alone however will keep a sweet front end and a great hip while downsizing one with plenty of good hair.
