Hi I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to buy a show calf this fall. Either online or off the farm sales are fine.
Any other online sale sites like steer bidder?
Thanks!

Show Circuit Online Sales
Caldwell-Willoughby online Sales
Show Stock Planet
Breeders World Online Sales

To name a few.  Between those 4 plus Steer Bidder...probably 500 sales this fall.

Where are you located? There are several sales starting labor day weekend .

Thanks so much Tallcool1! I'll look into those!

I have a buddy of mine that is in Missouri that plans on having a private treaty type deal this fall. Keep in touch with me and I'll get the details for you. I also will have some calves there, not steers though.

Tyrone Hullinger, Harris MO.  Not sure what he has now but many years ago the road to his place was always hot with "steer trader" traffic.

Sounds good! Could you let me know what his farm name is? Thanks

I could not find anything about his cattle online. Do you know if he still does sales?
Thanks!!

He sells private treaty.  Give him a call in July or August and you can set up a time to look at them.  The traders will put a deposit on a calf early but may not pick them up.  Cattle change a lot from summer to weaning.  I would give him a call now and tell him you are looking for a steer this fall and what you want to spend.  Also, tell him how you are going to show the steer (jackpot, county show, major.....)

A couple places we went to, we showed up on weaning day ready to help out and took the ones we wanted home.  Be ready at home to handle a freshly weaned calf. (a tight pen, right feed, vaccinate, worm, pour on, shot of antibiotic). Even if you only want one, I would take a buddy for him.  They do way better if they have a friend on the trailer and during the weaning process.

Good Luck!
