We are going to the American Royal dog show instead this year.  Someone said Randy Daniels was judging Wichita, I wish I had known that we would have gone in a heart beat, he is one of my favorite judges, he is great with the kids.
I'm adding to that- I have heard that this is the last year for the show in Wichita, something about having trouble finding funding, has anyone else heard anything like that?

I've heard they are shutting down the colisium.  That came thru a dog show list because they have a huge dog show there every spring and it will be affected next spring.  I will see if I can find links to that info.    I would assume the funding is there for the show, I wonder if they'll move the show or just do away with it?

We're taking three heifers and hauling two for neighbors.  I have heard that they may be just closing the arena part of the complex as of now at least that's what someone on the KJLS board told me.

We will be there. Not sure bout the show, but I don't know why they would put that they will be DNA'ing the commercail heifers for the show next year, if they were planning on shutting it down.

I think its too bad the judge announcement came so late/close to the entry closing.  It does make a big difference.  My other problem with the KJLS show is that a lot of schools have alternating week schedules and this puts the kids missing the same day twice.

I haven't read up on the DNA requirements yet but apparently it is on for all species.  I suppose it will apply for all the shows where the nose prints apply?  It's a step but won't work until they get the DNA registry to cross state borders.  What is the cost going to be?

BCCC - when will you get there?  Sounds like we are going in shifts too..

I'm not sure how the DNA thing is going to work, they had a board on it in the barn, but I didn't bother to read it.  In my opinion it is just another plan to keep the honest people honest.
