I still have a few "Clubby Type Cows". Clubby in their genetics, they are straighter in their structure and not much growth. Not bad, because it if they were very straight, they are gone...I would like to breed them to produce club calves.
I have talked to other breeders and many have experienced the same results as me.
Whenever, I breed these type cows to any "club calf bull" that I have tried, I get calves that have one or more of the following traits. Straight legged, poor coming out of their shoulders, too small framed, pop in their patterns, and will not grow and gain weight well and finish at about 1150lbs.
Question;
Is there a taller framed, loose structured clubby bull with growth, available that I am not aware of?
Or is their a PB bull or Crossbred bull (not really marketed as a Club Calf Bull), that will produce Club Calves when bred to the type of cows above? And be a "changer" and corret the "faults" on these type of cows?
