What would be the best comb and brush to use for winter grooming? Right now our 4-H calves have a small amount of dead hair. I do not need a shedding comb.I just have a small amount of dead hair to remove. I am thinking a plastic skip tooth scotch comb and a medium size rice roots brush. When it warms up we will  work in some ultra sheen.  (forty below wind chills predicted for Sun. eve in northern  Iowa)

We use several combs now. I find the plastic combs hard to get thru the thick hair right now. The shedding comb can be used all the time, it won't hurt a thing. We get them tied, blow them out, use a smart sensation or women's hair brush to work the hair then. Rotto brush legs and use massage brush/scrub brush to loosen any really dirty shots and then blow again.
