Agree.  We are horse camping and it was pretty chilly down in this valley this morning.  Nice fire and some camp coffee helped, along with the bacon, eggs, and tators!  I am ready for some cooler temps.  This summer was rough!  :)

Here in southern Saskatchewan, we have seen sure signs of winter's coming, like the first flocks of geese heading south, a couple nights with frost, and leaves on the trees turning colors and falling. Our temperatures are still very warm for this time of year and today it is supposed to get into the high 80s or low 90s. Our temps are at least 10 degress above normal for this time of year. Now if only we could get 10 degrees above normal for January and February!

Come middle of January, 36 degrees is going to look like a heat wave. :)  One good thing about below freezing temps. is the ground is frozen  and you don't have to worry about the mud, although if there is no rain it won't be muddy anyhow. :-\

I can't wait for winter, although it doesn't really get very cold here!

We got down to 26 two nights in a row, back on Sept. 13th and 14th.  That killed all the crops, most of which needed more time.  We were in the 90's before that, and are in the 80's now.  I don't want winter to show up until January...It seems like it just left.

Woody- Where they were able to plant early, the crop is good.  There was alot that got planted very late and a lot that did not at all.  The guys that I have talked to say average at best, where there are beans.  The corn needed time, so will have test weight issues in quite a bit of it.

Our seasons have all been 5 or 6 weeks late this year. We have had some frost but there are still some types of trees with green leaves, flowers blooming and we are still getting tomatoes off the plants. Usually by now the flowers and green leaves are long gone, we have had several heavy frosts and at least one snowfall. This morning it is raining and has been all night, it's 45 F and we normally would see this turn to snow.
But winter is coming, let's hope it stays away for a while yet!

Was 5 degrees this morning, plus the 6 inches of snow we received the past 2 days which was not a big deal till we got the 20 to 30 mph winds, so we have drifts 4 to 5 foot high in some places, makes me wonder what we will get in January and February as it is only December.

I will take winters like this one (so far) every year.

We have no  ZERO snow on the ground at all. " Normal" is over 14 inches., usually 2 ft on the level.

We have dipped below zero, twice.  Daytime highs are in the 30's and 40's, with lows in the 20's.  I love it.  I haven't even had to flip on the breakers for the Ritchies.  Cows are grazing cornstalks and standing grass.

Christmas Day high is supposed to be 45.  (clapping)

Here in VA, we thought we were going to have an interesting winter when we had about 2-3+ inches of snow on Halloween!!! We haven't seen any traces of snow since! Only some rain and mild winter weather. Some mornings have been cold, but many days have been in the 40's and 50's. We even had 65 one day I believe. The last time I checked, Christmas is supposed to be in the 40's and might have some rain. The cattle are enjoying the weather, but it's hard to feed in the mud!
