Wont stay in the ring

I have a heifer that acts wonderfully at home and even at a show on a rope halter. She seems to absolutely hate the show halter. I have tried it at home and she seems ok, less cooperative than the rope halter, but nothing like what it is at a show. When I bring her into set up in the first spot she tries to dart out of the ring. Someone had mentioned that she may have noticed the less tension as I switch hands, but she doesn't do any of this at home. I have been in the ring with her 6 times and she has done the same thing every time.

hello! so you have 2 options. 1. don't use anything but a show halter on her and make her get used to it. 2. just show her in a rope halter. but make sure it is new and black, and cut the lead down to a shorter size.

She may not like the chain on the show halter , try wrapping the chain with vet wrap all the way to the leather lead .

Also check the Sullivan Supply website , looks like they have a rubber coated chain lead now .
