How many cows do you figure a yearling bull can cover?

I go by the rule of one for each month of age. So a 12 month old bull = 12 cows and so on. There will be some disagreement with this I am sure, but is a good rule to go by up to age 2. Then I think you could jump the number to 30. You can put a yearling on more but it will typically spread your calving season out, and really be hard on the bull.
