ok here is some new pictures of a yellow jacket and captian morgan for my june county (110 days left) show. we 'rough' slicked them today, left leg and belly hair so it wouldnt be so hard on them when they laid down. but you can see the gist of things and how they could turn out and what im asking is some relalistic thoughts on them from a judge standpoint.  yellow jacket weighes 1000 full and captian morgan weighs 970 full.. . you wont hurt my feelings a bit. yellow is mine and morgan belongs to my brother

they are generally very complete made, not as muscular as most but sound, hairy, and easy keeping cattle. id use him on some clubby bred females to line them out and regulate them

nice pair for me the captain morgan is more complete better balanced and more moderate has plenty of look just real solid yellow jacket gets the wow factor on bone and look if hes fat enough and has enough belly come showday hes good thats where he concerns me is he gonna be too big and hard. thats from pics though i dont know what they look like in real life which could be alot different.

I think they are both very complete steers, for me I think the edge goes to the Yellow Jacket though.  The Yellow Jacket obviously has more substance to his bone, and from looking at these side profiles I would say that he also looks like he probably has more natural base width and power.  The Captain Morgan may be a little smoother out of the shoulder(but you definately cant knock the Yellow Jacket in this area) and the CM looks like he will definately finish easier.  You had asked me if I thought the Yellow Jacket would finish, from the pics it looks like he is already starting to lay down some cover(pawns around tail head) and with a 100 days left I wouldnt be to terribly concerned with him.
Overall I think they are a really nice pair of slick county show calves!

Looks like you are feeding both calves correctly, just keep pushing till they are actually "there" as far as finish.  They are too close to judge from just a picture as far as which one is better right now.

Two very good strs. The bottom str has the look at the moment but the top str has loads of lenght and still has time to flank down which will make a big difference to him in 100 days. Both have great muscle expression. They look good be sure to post pictures when they are done.

I agree with chambero, if your asking which one is going to win, I think it is way to close to call in these pics! I dont think either of them have any big issues from this view and if you do say something it is getting really nit picky.  Not starting arguments, but I think the yellow jacket is plenty good in his flank.  Both very nice steers, and I can totally see where others would go the other way, but I just like the Yellow Jacket, always have!
When is yalls show?
