Young calf - Has anyone ever seen this before? What do you think it is?

Has anyone ever seen this before. We have a bull calf that was born like this, he is now 2 weeks old. Can't say it's worse can't say it is any better. He acts normal and it doesn't seem to effect his vision. If effects both eyes. We are looking at the white part at the top of his eyes. There are veins in it. I have consulted a vet and some other cattle people, no on is sure. Tight muscles in his top eyelid have been mentioned, just wanting to know if anyone has had any experience with this. Don't know if he'll grow out of it or what should be expected. Any ideas or help??

Can't see much from the photo but look in to heterochromida,  not sure of the spelling but the angus have a genetic defect on some of their bulls from some time back.

I can't figure out what you're trying to show about the eyes, but that short little muzzle and prominent domed cranium makes me wonder about some neurologic defect/anomaly...hydrocephalus or something similar.

The white part on the top of his eyes. It's almost like an extended eye lid. In reference to your comment about his domed cranium pretty much all of that is hair. He's an almost famous/ali's solution bull calf. His mom has enough hair to be a buffalo!

These are photos of him maybe a hour old, his muzzle really isn't short and his cranium is hair.

I just had a minute before work so only did a quick search of pedigrees. Anyway I think there is 2 shots of Power Plant way back there and I hope I am wrong, but my guess is that calf has Monkey Mouth, and it may get worse over time.

Just spoke with my vet after sending him pictures as well. He said that the issue is Strabismus, so his eye muscles are not strong enough to keep the eyeball up allowing it to roll down. This creates the white. Said that in 60-70% of the calves they get better with age and using their eyes. So we will see however he is healthy and will grow just fine!

I don't think its monkey mouth. Hard to tell by pictures but it looked like a over bite instead of a underbite. Was the calf assisted during partuition?

There is nothing wrong with his mouth. See my previous post I heard back from my vet. He was born unassisted. The problem is with his eyes.

Thank You! We are hoping as well! He was born the day after OSU won the Championship football game, so his name is actually Bosa!

Here are a few updated pictures of our little guy Bosa. He seems to be doing just fine. The vet saw him a few weeks ago when he was castrated and said he may continue to improve. He sees fine, he seems to be doing fine... and he is eating A LOT!!  (clapping)

Maybe watch out that he doesn't flick himself in the eye with the corner of his ear tag when flies are bugging him. I had a nice bull calf get pink eye that way. Those big square tags seem to be the worst when the animals are young. Nice looking guy.

Unfortunately that's his far tag so it will have to stay in for about 6 more weeks, I willike probably change it after that!

Thanks for the input. He was born when the wind chill was below 0 so we didn't have time to fight with momma nursing him. His mom's first calf (she aborted the last one ) so he wound up being a bottle baby! We will be ready next year and she won't have a choice
