The Big Show / Re: Showing cattle at a young age« on: October 30, 2010, 10:29:07 PM »
At my county, we can show as a 4-h'er at the age of nine. But my little cousin has been working with cattle since she was old enough to walk. She is 2 and is excited to be able to show next summer. 12 is awful high and i don't think there is any safty hazard just as long as the kid knows what their doing and wants to do it.

The Big Show / Re: How to dye a black Simmental heifer?« on: October 29, 2010, 03:56:50 PM »
there are sorts of different dyes that you can use. I think sullivans has some. I think you can also use people dye, i don't remember the kind we used on our angus but all you really do is follow the instructions. Most of the time you just brush in the gunk and let it sit for 10-20 min. depends on the brand. It smells awful but it does work. Be careful and don't get it on your clothes. Does that answer your question at all?

The Big Show / Re: First snow! how will they react?« on: October 27, 2010, 05:47:44 PM »
they'll be fine. just make sure they have clean warm bedding or some sort of shelter to go top if it gets real bad you don't want them to get too cold
