I would not expect that the Mandalong Enia cows had any Maine in them, as the Maine breed was not imported yet when most of them were around. I have my suspicions about some other lines, but since I have no proof, I will not mention them. One bull that has been discussed in this thread, by pedigree was 8 generations polled and he sired a great number of horned animals. This is not proof of anything, but I have always wondered about him, especially when the herd that bred him imported a number of Maine X Shorthorn embryos from the US. Just saying,.....

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any of the 'older' herds which hadn't had a bit of Maine used somewhere. I know there are still a few who have some Maine or Maine X semen floating around- or bulls that appeared to be suspiciously Maine-like!!

Off the top of my head, of those older herds (say 40 years or older), I can think of only one which I wouldn't suspect had used any..... but then, I'm in my mid 20s so I could be way off the mark here!!
