My boys are already talking about the food at Ft. Worth!  They do love those cinnamon rolls!

You be sure and send them money out of your stash for all the treats, Sawboss had empty pockets after two trips last year.

No paint at all though, even on the legs.

Chambero, there is enough paint used there to recolor the barns.  LOL!  Our fitter last year touched up legs with paint and I almost fainted.  I was politely asked to leave and be quiet.  Needless to say I was nervous, until I walked around and saw the big boys fitting.

A lot of the "big boys"  have backed off on the paint on the legs.  You'll see more than a few legs in the champion exotic drives with a slight frosted look to them.  If you've got good leg hair, Easy Comb works fine and you don't even really need it.  Tanksley has handled the "rag" in the makeup pen for about as long as I can remember and he will reach down and wipe one low, especially if he knows the kid and doesn't like his family or their connections.

I kept using it for a couple of years after the rule change too till someone pulled me aside and told I'd better watch out because they really were serious on the leg paint issue.

Ask your fitter what happened to his own calf his senior year (or his sisters - I forget which) there.  That might bring back a painful memory for him though.  He wasn't real happy.  You weren't off-base on your concern.

I promise you it will not happen this year, we can't afford to take any chances with our best steer.  His hair will not need much work on his legs, it really pops.  The rag man looked at our calves last year and probably thought why bother, they will not make the cut.  It still amazes me the difference in atmosphere between the Junior Heifer show and Junior Steer show.  I enjoy the steer portion a lot more than being there with heifers, more entertainment and commotion on the steer end.  It is flat out wild at times!

It's gonna be pretty cold this weekend.  I won't be making it by for the heifer show - we've got three days straight of clipping to get done starting Friday.
