Well, dont be surprised if another bonham steer wins. Its much larger than SA, much nicer too. I just spent a whole bunch of time out there tonight.

He sells the most calves, he can buy cattle from all the top sales as auctioneer. Plus, the steer from SA was from Horn

I predict the winner of the show to be in the range of 1280 to 1295 sound enough but a little straighter on the front but still moves real pretty from the side with enough thickness and will be black and white. Thats my predictions off of seeing daniels in the past. But if i had to be honest the way everyone breeds them it will probably be another charolais you just can't beat a good slicking cream/smoke colored calf! After saying all this we are taking a brangus down for my senior year haha I kinda ran away from the heat this year last year we got as close as we can ask for with the reserve aob behind barton's. O and I bet the champ comes from cody, tusa, or horn. Bohnams cattle are extremely nice just the way the judges have used them this year their cattle might just be too extreme and thick. Just my prediction though  (lol) we will see! GOODLUCK EVERYONE!

Oh crap, now if a Charolais actually wins Kobo will start whining about how it was rigged, how the champions cost too much, and "what are we teaching our kids".

There is a better than average chance that the grand steer will come from Collin County of better yet someone from Prosper or Pilot Point area. Just a hunch ;)

Well... maybe... if that's how I see it... but doubt it.  Not just because its a Charolais??!!  Just call it like I see or hear it.
Just my opinion.  You know what they say....    (like you being a   A _ _ Hole  just now!!!)    Everybody has one.  <beer>

You lost the right to claim you call it like you see it when you "called it" without actually seeing it in the San Antonio thread.  Calling it like you hear it is nothing more than gossip.

You also implied in the last thread that being able to predict the champion meant it was political.  That you are now starting a thread asking for predictions is, well, sad.

I heard this judge does a great job of selecting cattle. Should be interesting!! I didnt think the steer that one last year with the most extreme animal, but he was def the most complete!

It's not a matter of intelligence.  It's about the poor sport and gossipy attitude that is a worse lesson for kids than anything you think 40k steers teach.

I have a heterosexual man crush on you, schroeder. not only am i amused by your sardonic wit you obviously are a learned, brilliant man as your opinions mirror my own. A sure sign of wisdom in the purest form. Where as I, when stumbling across a post that makes me shake my head and weep, move on, You throw the BS flag and blow your whistle. God bless. carry on.

Again... your opinion.  By the way I'm not a poor sport or gossipy.  There's some reason though that you are being so adamant about admitting it never comes into play?
It did 30 years ago and still does today.  NOT always but sometimes. Perhaps you're a politician...
Maybe you and yuppiecowboy can run for PRESIDENT & VP!

Jeff, I know I was critical of the S.A. judge in another thread. That is because he used a heifer raised by a  close friend of his @ a  Waco show when she was only a middle of the road heifer that stood third in ring B. I was there, I saw it, and I resent it. I also do not care for what I perceive as less than professional behavior, proper speech, and terminology.
Not saying he is not a good guy, as I do not know him personally. I DO KNOW I was less than impressed by him as a judge. And we had 2 placing calves @ S.A.  Not like we crapped out.

Kobo, what on earth makes you think I'm claiming it's never happened?  I never said any such thing.  YOU claimed it came into play in San Antonio and you were doing it based solely on gossip.  As for not being a poor sport and gossip, what, in your opinion, differntiates you from those who are?

Cowboybecoachin, I have no beef with what you say there, I have no clue what went on at the show you speaking of.  My criticism is pretty specific to the whining of Kobo from the SA thread and how it relates to this one.  If you go back and check that thread, somebody posted that they knew a guy that predicted the San Antonio winner.  Kobo then said "that settles it" in reference to the grand being a political decision.  That she's now starting a thread looking for predictions is laughable at best.

Jeff you need to lighten up and get off my butt about this and re-read those posts.  You never answered my question or admitted it does... that's why.  I said BASED ON WHAT WAS SAID, "I rest my case".  I never said it WAS for sure.  Just sounded like it to me.  My opinion on being a poor sport well cause I'm old enough to know I'm not.  Don't have to be.  Just don't like cheaters and never have.  (if anyone was!!! not saying they were!!)  Gossip, well I don't think I'm any worse than anyone else, just my opinion!  I even tried to compliment you on knowing much more than I do.  But I do know one thing... NO one knows EVERYTHING.  The day we stop learning is the day we die.  I'm not sure if you're being mean to me cause I'm relatively new in the business or because I'm a woman?  But I'm not gonna let a guy I don't even know judge me based on a few silly posts.  And oh yea... you call me a 'whiner' one more time and I'm gonna have to come find you in Houston!!

the day that anyone can communicate what is in their head to someone else so that both understand will never come.

people default too fast to be offended than they do to understand or even give someone the benefit of the doubt.

on the other hand, i think god gave us a mouth so we couldn't understand what is in each other's head.  we can't possibly say all we are thinking, and if we could, we would all be in jail.
