    Shocker 3/4 simm

Looking for any experience or thought on this bull. Thinking of using him on some 1/2 simm angus cows.

    Synchronized but no heat seen

synchronization is a handy and fairly efficient tool. however, i believe that if a cow was at the wrong part of their natural cycle (I believe its ether right before or right after natural heat), they would not respond to the sync the way expected. usually we saw these non responders being bred...

    retaining flushes

I wouldn't have a problem so much about semen interest on a bull. it just seems to me that it if I bought a heifer that was good enough to flush that after she has a calf I am going to want to flush her myself, or get her bred back quickly. that said I don't see how it would ever really be...

    retaining flushes

While looking for heifers at sales and online sales ive been kind of turnned off by the special terms of the sale that they want to retain 2 flushes on all the heifers in the sale...i feel I could understand a few in the sale. I just felt like if they wanted to keep all those gem tics they maybe...

    Banding a navel

I have never done this but I have heard of doing it to heifers.. but I would think that doing it to a steer calf would make so he couldn't urinate.. I don't know this to be true but it would be a concern of mine.

walks alone bred for her third calf

the other two calves were thick and hairy plenty of guts and depth but kinda short and squaty ... they looked really cool as babies but they never really got big enough frame to go any where and maybe a touch coarse in the shoulder so I was hoping that this mating might get a calf a little more...

walks alone bred for her third calf

the other two calves that she has had were just out of my shorthorn herd bull.. now I finally got her ai'd and people are telling my I made a big mistake the way I bred her... I would say she is moderate framed, made nice and not a freak. I bred her to yellow jacket... am I really that crazy???

    requirements to be a reciep

I know a receip should be a good milker, quiet, good mother and so on..but I was wondering if they needed any special registration if were using purebred embryos or anything like that...or just choose cow to put eggs in and go from there?

Wonder why guns and bullets keep going up in price...this explains it. N/C

ammo price is high right now because with all this gun control debate, all the guys that would normally buy a box or two went out and bought a case or two... or more.. so the next guy does the same thing and pretty soon ammo cannot be made and distributed fast enough to keep up with the people...

    Concrete vs sand

cattle were not made to be on concrete. I try and keep them off of it. I have concrete just for our indoor washrack and clipping area. all pens are hard pack dirt with bedding. we have used wood chips, sawdust, sand even rubber mulch in the cooler. most worked well. some types of sand we used...

    Wash rack

I don't know if you are going to have a drain or just let it run off the pad. when I put in a washrack (mine is inside but this would aply anyhow) I put the drain against the wall and the tie rail back from the wall about 20 inches. I loved that the water going forward I wasn't always standing...
