    Dakota Gold bull

Seems like there have been some nice ones out of him this past spring and have sold well.  My personal experience with him wasn't worth a hoot though.  My biggest complaint of the calves on average are not sound enough and way too straight off both ends.  We bred him like he's advertised, to TH...

EMBRYO TRANSFER - IMPROVING BOVINE PREGNANCY RATES

We have been doing the ET work for a number of years now with very large numbers and have been working towards higher conception rates each year and here are just a few different practices we follow that have definitely improved our number of settled pregnancies drastically.  1.) Similar to what...

    Mojito

Have had numerous Mojito calves the past two years.  Like said above in the discussion it depends largely on the cow on how the birthweights are, as is every club calf bull in our industry.  We have had very good luck using him on our past show heifers that are carriers.  Calves have sold well...

Headliner Vs. Monopoly Who has had calves by both and your analysis

To put it bluntly, Monopoly wins show after show no matter what level it is at.  Breeders are going to keep using him instead of his full sibs because of the sole reason that people want Monopoly calves and they sell better.  We raise a large number of show calves every year and none of the full...

Where to go... Where to go?

Part of the Western Central Iowa Club calf producers group decided in the off season to split from the group and have their sales end the 23rd and not allow anyoen to view the cattle until the 14th.

Where to go... Where to go?

If you are heading through western iowa there are numerous sales to hit up around the Denison area.  These sales are in the West Central Club Calf Producers group and have proven to raise national and state champions every year.  Definitely worth your time to come check us all out!

Water spots (Fluid pockets on my steers legs)

We have had numerous show steers get those water pockets before.  Its no big deal really.  I was told that they are just lubrication for their joints and are caused by big boned and stouter cattle.  I for sure wouldnt drain them.  We just made sure we had good enough leg hair on them to cover...

    what is your worst mating?

We have had alot of trouble structurally with wmw cows too. The structural issues seem to breed through too, which makes it tough to make good club calves!

    what is your worst mating?

One of our most disappointing matings this year was one of our Mossy Oak donors bred to Believe in Me. We were really excited about this mating and are pretty bumbed how it turned out.  We will just have to stick to using monopoly.

    Breeding heatwave daughters

He breed quite a few hw daughters or in general all TH carrier females and we have found that yellow jacket,  I80 and Mojito have worked the best for us.  Each works best on a little different cow, but each of them have worked well on cetain cows.

    Reusing CIDRs Question

We use hundreds of ciders each spring and use each cider twice and have had great luck with that.  After the first use, we wash and scrub them off and then soak em in iodine, then seal them in the bags they came in.  It has worked great for us so far and saves money since the ciders havent went...

    Monopoly or Walks Alone

From our experience with boy bulls, monopoly probably breeds more consistently and keeps em pretty sound and big bodied.  Like said before, walks alone is a cow changer and breeds more extreme; we have had more problems with getting to "freaky" of calves with walks alone than monopoly.  All in...

    Favorite Heifer Bull

We use the angus bull OCC Legend on all of our heifers for the first year unless they r shorthorns, then we use jake's proud jazz.  Both bulls do a good job on keeping the birth weights low but still being able to have a marketable calf in the end.  The OCC Legend heifer calves also usually make...
