Nice calf, looks like a good one! I had several Uno Mas calves last fall and I love them. Halter breaking 3 of them now.

I kept my first show heifer for many years as a pet. She never had a calf because she never cycled. The vet said she had a very small reproductive tract. She was a big ol' fat cow. My daughter and my niece and nephew all rode on her back. She was by far the gentlest animal I've ever been around...

I live in Missouri and I have someone from IL buying one of my heifers. What all is required to get the heifer across state lines? I am assuming health papers and a brucellosis shots from a vet. Anything else? I've never sold cattle to someone in a different state before so tell me all you can...

Mine used to be afraid of children and strollers a few years ago. Now I have a daughter, a niece, and a nephew. Needless to say, my cattle aren't scared of kids anymore. lol

One with a high, medium, and low settings with a really long hose that doesn't blow beakers. Also, small enough that it could be easily be stored in a show box.

I've had 2 different herd bulls over the past 9 years. I've had about 65% heifers born in that time by those two bulls. Two of those years I only had one bull per year. In 2012 I started AI-ing some of my purebred cows and I am FINALLY getting some good bull calves.  ;D

At our fair the youth gets a plaque and a rosette. The open show winner gets a lawn chair that says "champion" on it and a rosette. I like the plaques better because they will last forever and you can put them on display. A lawn chair wears out after a few years and you can't display them...

That's why I started this post. I want calves that won't always place last in a cattle show. I have highly productive cows IMO. I cull strickly if they do not breed back on time (reproduction is a lowly heritable trait). I have tried several different rations to help my show cattle and stuck...

I'd like to see some pictures of his calves as well, if anyone has any. :) So, Sturdy would probably work better on the deeper body type of cattle? I have a few cows like that but most of my cattle are probably needing more depth. lol
