We have a heifer that coughs a LOT! It started when we were feeding her for fair and I thought it was from the dry beet pulp maybe. Well now she's been out on pasture for over a month and still has it. Any ideas for a cause and possible solution? Thanks
Going to be building a cool room for the first time and just want to be sure to insulate it properly. It will be in the Southeast corner of our barn. The walls have 6x6 posts and metal siding on the outside. The roof is 8' on one side and 13' on the other and the area is 24x24. Using a...
Completely agree with Chambero. We just finished with a BIM and he was exactly how they are described. Not mean or crazy but really nervous all the time. Was scared to death he was going to get loose during show at fair. Kept him on melatonin all the time and it seemed to help and loaded him up...
We have participated in this program in the past, it's a great program. You don't need to do anything prior to shows. If you want to show a breed class you need papers, but other than that you can sign up the day of the show. You can show as a member buy sponsoring your animal for a registration...
Just an FYI the Dam of Jesse James was kicked out of the association, so he is now less than 3% Chi. Had a heifer paper that was 12.74% and just recieved a letter and new papers changing her % to 1.22.
Same thing happened to us last week. Got a paper that said he went from 27.44% to 2.44% and...
We were in the exact same situation with our current steer. Do NOT use hot shot, tried that and got steer mad and my butt kicked! Very much agree with donkey, that worked great for us. The donkey along with keeping the steer tied for longer sessions than normal. And lots of patience. It took us...
We were there but can't help with results. Hard to see who is up front when you are closing the gate. (clapp

Calves didn't do as well as hoped but EXTREMELY proud of my kids, they did a great job with their calves, especially my daughter cause this was the first show for her in the ring all...
This is what I'm afraid of. We tried tying him to a heifer and he was perfect until a person took the lead then lock up city. This is not a home grown calf, we purchased him so hopefully we don't have to eat him because he would be some pretty expensive steak!
