We have this beefmaster steer we are going to show in two weeks. He is gaining 2.6 pounds per day and eating 26 pounds a day. If he keeps this up, he will weigh around 1330 at the show. We would appreciate any feedback, constructive criticism, etc. Thanks!

We have a purebred beefmaster calf we got from a breeder back in November and he has an indent in the center of his spine. Is this natural for beefmaster? What is it? We’ve never had beefmaster a before so if you could tell us if it’s genetic that would really help us out! Thank you!

Here is his but. We are aware he has fat on the sides of his tailhead. This picture was taken when he was eating so his footing isn't right. But it gives a pretty good view of his butt.

Our family doesn't believe in banding. We only cut our steers. Our neighbors say they cut at 1 month, but some of our friends tell us they cut when the steer is older (5 months). We've heard that cutting them when they are older makes it bloodier. Would 2 or 3 months be a good age?

We are feeding him Excel Grower/Finisher 12lb a day. We also give him some alfalfa and hay. He only drinks water with refresh (electrolyte supplement) in it.

The steer is a Brangus/Hereford crossbreed. He had the finish we wanted on his body. How do we reduce the energy in his feed? We tried the rolling pin idea and it is helping. The fat doesn't look as puffy. The show is next week, but we think he will look really good by then. Thanks for the help!

I have a show steer that has softball sized pockets of fat on the sides of his tailhead. It looks really ugly and I wanted to know if there is a way to get rid of them. I've done some research but I haven't found much. Please help. Thanks!
