    interesting article

Indeed, fascinating to think of traditional fencing being an obsolete cost of doing business.

    Champion Drive and Fitter 35

Thanks, Joshua.  That was beneficial and was what I have learned in the past so it was nice to have that reinforced.  Here's a question, why are you supposed to "please be careful" and "be wise" in its use and application?  What are some signs of concern that you should look for if trying to...

    Maine bulls for steers

Hard Whiskey is great in the right application.  Use him on moderate framed, soggy cows. He will provide the bone, mass and style.

    Full blood Limousin semen

Curious about what else you found.  Care to share?

    Feed Help please

Without going into a lot of detail, you are feeding a very high fiber diet (23%).  I assume that includes the soybean meal and cottenseed meal you mentioned.  If not, then you or I neither one know exactly what you are feeding.  Find out first, but at first glance I would reduce the fiber down...

    Best Angus Calves this year

I don't intend to hi-jack the thread but some of you sound like you may have some knowledge of Resource.  I'm interested in using him and would like to know where he fits in terms of what he nicks best with.  Any particular pedigrees he seems to really work well on?  What type of cow crosses...

    Angus bulls

OCC Anchor, while providing considerable value in other areas, will not provide any frame enhancement.  He will moderate frame size, as will most similar bred OCC cattle.

    Phenotype Angus Bulls

I am interested in Slider as well.  I am wanting to know what Angus bloodlines seem to cross well with him?  Does he down size frame on bigger cows?  What happens when used on moderate cows?  Does he improve an average cow?  What traits does he improve and what does he not?  Not looking for...

    2017 Denver Display Bulls

Tell me more about HB Guyman, CAB.  He is already on my short list to use this spring.  Is he deep bodied enough for today's trend?  How big is he, estimated frame score?  How thick is he?  By the way, I agree with you about Harley, I was the one that brought him up on this thread.

    2017 Denver Display Bulls

There isn't much info out there about him that I can find.  I sent an email to Bushy Park asking for a little more information but haven't got any response.  From his pedigree, I would suggest that he probably isn't going to be a sure fire calving ease bull.  But as far as phenotype he was...

    2017 Denver Display Bulls

I agree that the picture leaves much to be desired.  Apparently, he isn't as bad as it looks because he was division champion up on the hill.  I'm not a Hereford breeder but I thought Harley was just a real attractive bull.  He has a little more flash than your typical 2 year old Hereford.  I...

    2017 Denver Display Bulls

Looking for info on the Angus bull from Bushy Park called Timber Creek.  He really hit me hard.  Also, loved the Simmi bull from Minnaert out of Bandwagon called Crowd Pleaser.  He also had a really good 2 year old Hereford bull named Harley.  I think he was Sullivan bred.  Any thoughts on any...

using alfalfa hay for fill on show day

Curious about trying this versus our usual routine.  Can you utilize alfalfa cubes rather than hay to gain fill?  What about their stools?  Will we need to re-adjust their diet to compensate for the extra protein?

    KLLR Pistol

Anybody use or have an opinion on the 2012 Angus bull from Kellers' named Pistol?

    Spelt

Has anyone used spelt in their show rations?  If so, what does it replace and what are you trying to accomplish by feeding it.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Reviewing Angus Sires

Has anyone seen or have an opinion on calves by EXAR Counsel, Big Softy, or Settler?  Any other bulls you guys think have done a good job siring productive, attractive calves?  Thanks in advance for any feedback.

    Holding rations

Thanks for the quick and thorough response, VC.  We will give it a try and see what happens.  It looks well thought out and viable.  Appreciate the help.

    Holding rations

I know that there may have been other posts asking for this information but I think this might help others as well as myself.  Here goes, our angus steer is weighing 1395 as of this morning.  We have been trying to slow him down for the last month but he seems to be gaining on very little...

    maternal bulls from Duff/OCC

I have a few Anchor cows and their offspring in my herd.  I have had none of the fertility problems commonly mentioned when referring to Anchor bloodlines.  In fact, what I consider my best cow calved in July 3 years ago and is examined safe to an AI date for a March calf next spring.  They have...
