i know that it is pretty late but i am selling my steer that i had planed to show but wont be able to due to health issues. he should class angus in texas he is stout cool looking super big bodied and very gentle would work great for a first timer i hate not being able to show him myself...
we feed our fall borns finisher fomt the day we get them until the day we sell them the trick is to know how much to feed at 650 lbs i would say somewhere between 15-20 lbs a day if he wil eat it.
that is what we do and always have good hair in the winter we use a mix of sheen and infusium everyday but our goal is febuary so it may differ depending on when your final show.
there are other soloutions other than buying a cooler you can make your own for much cheaper a couple fans a mister plywood and insulation its not a coolcalf but it gets the job done we personaly just work tons in the wash rack.
we used epic this past year plus rinsing and about 3 hrs of hair work every day and we got absoultly no result i realize most of it was the calf and genetics but it didnt do us any good
i am looking for a fall born steer that would slick not looking to spend alot of money due to the fact that we direct our program mainly towards ft worth but are kinda looking for a slick this year to so if you have anything please let me know
