I'm from Wisco also.  We use the Shedding comb by Sullivans or Weaver. It works GREAT!!!. We wash our steers and heifers at an outside washrack all thru the winter as long as it is over 25 degrees  and sunny.  Just make sure you get them COMPLETELY DRY.

There is a 10% chance she is fertile.  You can take a blood test also which is 100% accurate.  It costs about $60.00 for the test.  If she is good, the money spent is worth it.

Chopped Oat Straw on the bottom and Long baled straw on top. Lots of it.  Chopped straw is very absorbant and the long straw makes a nice comfy bed and keeps calves warm. 

I like Manchild although he is THC.  I have seen a few really nice calves out of him.  We have a March calf out of him and she has won her division at every show she went to this past summer and fall.  this picture was taken when she was 4 months old

Is that the heifer you bought at WBE? She will fit right in with Mercedes. She is real nice and I know her disposition is awesome.

We have a club with the same membership. We are called "Prime Cuts 4-H Club". And our club logo is a picture of each species with the words "show the best eat the rest" had quite a few compliments.
