Just wondered if anyone has kept any Amen heifers back and if they are making good cows ? With the cow power from his dam they should be pretty good. We have a Amen heifer out of a Mossy Oak cow that has looked good from the time she stood up so I may want to keep her for a cow if they are making good mothers.

We have one due to calve in late February.  Very excited about her. Anxious to see what type of cow she makes.  We also are keeping one back out of this years heifer crop.

Our Amen female had her first calf last night.  She had a Duff Hobart heifer.  We had to give her a little assistance, as soon as the calf was out, she was up taking good care of it.  Not always the case with a first calver.  Thought she would milk a little better, but she had a few days early and might put on a little better udder.  Happy with everything so far.

Have you had or do you have very many Hobart calves? That's a bull that I have been wondering if a guy should buy B4 he goes up.
