I'm new to this site, thanks for all the info. I have been searching through older posts before wanting to ask questions that have been asked a 1k times. I found the topic of which i was wanting to read about but with much contradiction and many many years between posts.  Does this hold true in everyone's opinion.

Cattle can't get lice from chickens There are some species of mites that will cross species lines, but all lice are species specific.

I have a show steer that started a small patch of hair loss on his tail head. I'm treating him with  prolate lintox weekly as of yesterday. Have never had lice before and the only difference this year is about 40 chickens. They are penned up about 20 ft from the steer but are let loose every afternoon for a couple hours before dark where some often enter the steer pen.  Thanks
