I showed goats when I first started out like 10 years ago, and I only did it for two years before going to pigs and cattle. My first year of showing, bracing a goat off the ground like a lamb was considered taboo in my county. I showed quite a bit, gained some experience, and the next year it was -how much can I get him off the ground and make it look like I'm not picking him up-. I won grand champion both years. The first year was pure luck of the draw, and the second year I actually knew what I was doing. I quite showing goats after that because they were stupid, and I liked pigs better. I've seen a handful of goat shows since then, and nowadays it seems like if your not bracing a foot off the ground your not winning.
