any good feed mixs that works great on a young green heifer?

I live in Florida where feed prices will break the bank. Show Chow is 13.25 a bag so was going to mix my own feed that would work good enough.. She is a June Hard Core Heifer.

I completely understand your situation show chow is 18.50 a bag here started playing around with my own mixes last year beet pulp is getting up there as well.  A good cheap replacement for it is horse hay extenders pellets a third of the cost and provide 75% of your forage requirements.  Hope this helps !

What state are you in? I guess I wont complain anymore when I pay $11.50 for show chow.
