Can anyone give us the rundown on how the show shaked out? What steers looked good?

I saw a picture of the Skiles black/white champion progress steer. He sure looked good. How much did he weigh? And will he end up at Fort Worth? Or is he far enough along that Kansas City/Louisville is a more likely ending point?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know how everything came out but that solid black Skiles' steer looked better then awesome in picture that Lautner posted.  Apparently a HW breed cow sired by Monopoly. Would like to know what people thought of him in person.

The little Skiles kids pretty much dominated the whole show.  Their B&W progress isn't their best calf by the way.  He was Reserve in Ring A.  I love him on the move, I think he's a little "piecey" set up, but that's splitting hairs.  I've never seen a calf with that much hair in July.  He was panting in the ring like someone that had just finished a marathon.  I never read how heavy he is, but he looks to me like he's pretty close to done right now.  I seriously doubt he'll be held past a fall show.

By the way, those two little kids can show the heck out of those steers.  They have lots of professional help, but you can tell those kids are putting in their time.  I'd be shocked if I'm wrong on that.

Thanks for the intel, Chambero.

So, I take it the Skiles black steer that won the prospect show will more than likely be geared for Fort Worth?

My observations- if anyone wants to downplay the quality that showed up in Waco vs years past it would be a mistake... No there wasnt the vast numbers but the top end- having watched the champion drive was as loaded as it could be regardless of how many showed up- those skiles cattle are about as good as they come- easily could have 4 holed the show I think the limi had a place in their top 5 and the herf is just a straight stud

Black and white is going to k.c and one would pretty confidently assume the black calf is for ft worth- had the reserve aob in a acted right I think the result could have been different- that's one to be watching down the road

The solid black steer is going to need a change of attitude to be a player in Ft Worth.  Also, I'm not sure where that limmi going with his size and maturity but I don't think it classes that breed at the Texas majors.  I fell in love with their Hereford.  Congrats to the Skiles Family, they won both the steer and heifer show. That = two brand new trailers!!

We had our best BBB ever with a breed and res breed champion.  Nice way to finish up our last BBB.

Congrats to all!!
