Had good luck with AF STEPAHEAD. Going to try MAV BELLRINGER, he's supposed to be calving ease. Both are available at Cattlevisions.

I know I'm biased but the Leader bull we own with Horseshoe Creek (Justintime) is quickly proving himself to be a very good choice for heifers.  The calves come easily and have great vigor at birth.  As importantly for us, they seem to have more than adequate growth and enough eye appeal to possibly make it in the ring.  JIT has had several this spring and may want to offer his observations on them, but we're very pleased with the calves we have.

Gizmo or his son Wymore.  Gizmo is the easiest calving shorthorn sire we've used.

Attached are their pics.
Gizmo $100 straw
Wymore $30 straw

As Joe mentioned previously, we are very pleased with how Hillside Leader is working with our heifers. We have used him on a multitude of bloodlines from Caney Valley Hurricane, SULL GNCC Pure Solution, to Wolf Willow Major Leroy 1M and HC Mist's Return 13R daughters.Leader calves have been born easily and so far all have been polled. I don't think JoeinTenn has had any horned calves either. The calves are very vigorous at birth and are growing fast. They are very attractive calves.
When I got Hillside Leader, I had been looking for a Shorthorn bull that had a very moderate BW yet had some decent performance and growth. Leader seemed to fit this bill and  so far I would say that he had done all of this. We have semen at Hawkeye Breeders, Adel, IA and Joe has some at a Genex stud in Georgia. His semen is $25. dose and is high quality. We also have semen in Canada and Australia. Thunderdownunder, is going to be our rep in Aussieland.

We have also used HC FL Touchdown 123T ET on some heifers and he is also calving good. Touchdown is super thick and moderate framed. His calves are stout. He is available in the US through Genex or from myself or Shady Lane here on SP. He is priced at $30/ straw in the US and he is also available in Canada and will soon be in Australia. Thunderdownunder will be handling his semen in Australia as well.

He is really looking good! The KENMAR PRESIDENT 26A phenotype shows in that photo. I suppose he is only available in the US?

Thanks Dan,I see his mothers hip in him but the Presidents around here definitely have a distinctive look.Mainly just had him collected to use here and at Marty's so never had it approved for Canada.
