Thanks vc for clarifying for me. My opinion is and this is strictly an opinion for show cattle , you have 4 categories of females: you have the pretty and functional females, these are the show ring quality heifers/cows that do most of the winning, they are pretty deep, and sound, and then you have:, just pretty heifer/cows that will never be functional unless they are monitored 24/7 and continuously babysat (unfortunately yes sometimes those females do win), and then the category that my heifer falls into (broody): just plain looking but super soggy, deep ribbed, sound, with a lot of hip width to he, but that can't win a show because she lacks the prettiness and balance needed, she obviously has the functionality needed to produce you something that has the potential to do well in the show ring and if it doesn't give you a great one at least she gives you something that you can market to help pay the bills, and my favorite part of her is, you don't have to babysit her.The the final category: A club calf producers cull, any female not classified in above but has healthy reproductive organs and will produce you a calf of some sort, and I say that with a bit of sarcasm behind it (lol)
agree or disagree, just my opinion when I read broody in a post.
