Just an update we are now at 9 heifers and 6 bulls.  We bred our registered Angus cows all to Irish Whiskey this year trying for some really good heifers, we put 5 straws in and so far have 1 left to calve and 4 BULLS ugh.

I believe there may be something to this theory, but how do you explain the high heifer percentages we have been getting the last 3 calf crops. Between 75 and 80 % heifers and that ratio is holding true in our first 32 calves this year. We AI, Implant embryos, and turned 8 bulls out and one would think this would even out. Just when I want some bulls as we are trying to get our bull sale established, I can hardly get any!!

Well, if you just have TOO many heifers, you oughta send a couple down to Illinois. I bet we could fit a couple of em in the barn.

Now that they are finally calving.  3 heifers 0 bulls.  first one 276 days next one 284 days and 285 days.  I have never had heifers go over due but have been on these and the one fall heifer i had also.
