Here is a ? we have had two calves in the last month get sick..here are the symptoms.....the calves will lay around and just act like they are pushing to try and pass a bowling ball.....they are low headed and have passed a little bit of blood in the stool....any ideas thanks

Have they defecated normally at all?  How old are they now?  Are they nursing well and did they nurse soon after birth?  Newborns do seem to strain a bit as they pass the first stool. I guess it could be as simple as constipation to as serious as a blockage.  How many other calves have you had (if any) and are they normal acting?  How long have the affected calves been acting this way? DL?  Yes, if they don't come round, a Vet call is in order.

We had that and it ended up be coccidiosis don't think I spelled that right but we had to take all cows and calves put on dry lot and put medicine in there water it is very fast acting. It spreads threw calves quickly and most case if not treated quick it can kill alot of calve in a short period. We got lucky and only lost one. Hope that is not what you have best of luck.
