Carpe Diem Steer

We just bought my son a Oct. Carpe Diem Steer! We normally show Angus and this will be our first good steer to show! My sons first year we had him show a steer out of the pasture just to teach him the process! Any tips on feeding and tending a steer would be great. We show registered cattle so we know some just new to steers! We are in Mississippi so he will show slick our State Fair is in Oct and his final show will be Dixie National in Feb.

He should be around 600 ish pounds so it should be pretty easy feeding from here til February.. Of you're aiming for 1300 pounds he will need to gain just north of 2 pounds per day.  Other than that have fun with your project! Will he classify Hereford?
