They are looking good! I really like the heifer in the 2nd pic.(is that her in the 1st photo also?) The black cow looks like she will be weaning off a fair amount of weight (thumbsup)
Actually Okotoks, the 2nd picture is of the steer that is mentioned in the first pic. The sires gave a lot of our calves really smooth clean head and necks. This steer made it onto one of my son's short list for 4-H project. He is nice and wide over the top, with lots of muscle expression in the hind quarter. We are hoping to take 2 steers and a heifer as 4-H projects this coming year, and my brother may possibly want to buy a steer or two from us as well. What's so amazing this year is that the a lot of the calves from our 2 year olds (all sired by Governor) are the same size as the other calves walking in the pasture. And as you can see by the pic from the black cow the calves are growthy! (thumbsup) To be honest, my hubby and I are a little worried that we have a lot of open cows because the calves look so good and we had to pull the bulls after only 6 weeks. (Crappy fences, early to pasture, and neighbours field full of cycling cows....)

That's a great looking set of calves!! It would be fun to feed'em. Don't know right now if a person could make any money feeding em. What are feed prices like right now in Canada? .
We have to buy all our feed so we won't be able to feed them out, but we sure wish we could! The other problem is we have some loans to pay for the cattle we bought this spring so we are hoping that we can get a good price for these this fall.
