In southern MN where we had adequate rain, I paid $ 15/bale to get 5 x 6 bales made on my own land.  Not for sale, but I would not sell for less than $ 30 fob my farm, and I would probably be too cheap.  Hearing $ 50 - $ 60/bale  is going rate.

We paid $30 for ours this year,  we run cattle on our own stalk fields so we don't bale any of our own.  We feed them in bale feeds just like hay, sometimes we rotate stalks then hay and sometimes we both out at the same time.  If its really cold or muddy we roll them out for bedding.

I know what I paid was expensive, it was that or travel a way to get it and spend extra in fuel. I paid $120 a ton, was paid off actual truck and trailer empty weight to loaded weight. Hay is almost up to 3 times that around here for good grass alfalfa mix. I am rotating my bales rite now, 1 bale of hay, then a bale of corn stalks, back and forth. Mine was irrigated feed corn and has really good leaf content.
