I bought a very good cow at a sale barn a couple of years ago, and was wondering if there is anyway to find out she is out of. She could of been just out of a average cow and bull as far as i know. The reason i am asking she looks like she has very good breeding behind her, and would like to A.I her next year but wouldn't like to A.I her to something she's related to! She has very good calves out of our bull but would like to try something else.

I don't know of any way to determine parentage w/o a starting point (check against these 3 sires).  At the same time, the odds of you picking the exact sire that she's by are not likely.  Even in that case, if you did pick her sire that's not the biggest deal in the world.  Many superior animals have resulted from close matings.

Depending on what you want to breed her to, TH/PHA/AM/NH/etc testing might be a wiser investment since you don't know what you've got there.
