Hey Folks,
Some of you might remember a thread I started a while back about some SimAngus females I was looking at. I talked with the guy this morning and he's looking at moving around 80 head of Simm based cows and some SimAngus females. The SimAngus females are OCC Emblazon daughters, and some of the cows trace back to Meyer. The cows are all bred to Angus bulls right now and will calve in March. All I have right now is the purebred Gelbvieh herd, so I'm looking for 5 cows to play with for a clubby herd. These cows are the real deal, so needless to say, I want to make their home at my place.
Here's the part where I need some help. I'm trying to come up with creative solutions to finance this. With the financial situation being what it is, the banks up here have gotten really tight on lending for ag loans. I've been trying to come up with some kind of solution that would work for both of us in the long run. So far here's what I came up with:
- Seller can have the calves in fall of 2009 for reduced price on cows
- Seller can retain 1/2 ownership in 2009 calves and 2010 calves for free cows
- Pay full price for cows, mortgage my kidneys
Anyone have solutions that have worked for you in the past, or any ideas?
