I am new to Steer Planet and hope I am doing this right.

We are trying to get the correct grain for our steers to gain maximum weight. What is recommended for a steer feed? We have access to a grinder but we have to buy all ingredients. We are also looking to make feed cost effective so when steers are sold our kids are making money not loosing. Any suggestions would be helpful. We were using a soybean meal, corn and mineral mix. But didn't seem to put weight on like we wanted. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have found over the years that the nutritionists at the feed companies are more than happy to discuss feed options and programs with people.  Even when you aren't feeding their product, you can always give the people over at Purina and other places a call or email and chat.  I've learned a lot from them.
