feeding new prospects

was wondering what everyone else feeds there new feeder calf prospects when they first arrive calves are green but eating well just want the most bang for my buck

3 scoops of grower, 1 scoop of beet pulp, Vitaferm cup or calf manna twice a day, hay at night. Watch for them getting loose, if they do adjust but just keep pushing them to get to a desired look. Oh and tons of clean water, cant believe how dirty people keep their water for their animals.

AR Starter for 2-3 weeks.  Used to be called Impact starter by LOL/Purina.  Free choice no hay.

Ok at the risk of sounding like a rookie (i am a rookie  ;)). What does the beet pulp do at this stage of the game?  Thanks fo rthe info..poke fun if you want  :)
