I would look more at holding him then because if he has enough cover. I really wouldn't want him weighing much more. I would also have to worry about him getting stale. Are you sure of his weight?

Zac, no one can tell your steer is finished without at least seeing a picture or better yet putting their hand on him.  Just because he's 1200 lbs by no means indicates he's done. 

I think Purina Power Fuel if he feels close.  If you feel you need a little extra mix in some stabilized rice bran with the PF.

If your gonna use both, slowly bring him up on PF then slowly add in you rice.
IMO, its pretty darn hard to get one to fat. Especially feeding through the summer. G-Luck

That's kinda what I was thinking, Rack. Weight alone is no indicator at all.  If he needs the cover, and you only have 30 days, even a finisher alone might not be enough.  Corn is your friend.

You have obviously done a good job feeding him, so keep feeding him as you have, and gradually add 1 pound per day Stabilized Rice Bran. If he still needs more cover, gradually bring him up to 2 pounds SRB per day.
