Fitting Creme Cattle

I just bought a creme colored steer this year and I was wondering what works best for building legs. Is there a certain color paint that works good?

Prolly have to clue and go or just play with different pain combonations to find what matches...

Would it be a bad idea to use paint from a hardware store?
