Depends on what you want and what you have to breed them to. Also depends on how much you want to spend on semen.

Do you have Steel Force semen on hand or do you know where to get ahold of some? Last I knew he was costing in the $300/$350/unit range, but that was a couple of years ago. He is not on the open market though. Just a FYI.
  There are alot of SM bulls available out there that are proven for what you are wanting to do. I would think that you may want to use a PB SM to give you 1/2 blood SM females that will have 1/4 blood calves when X-bred.

yes i have a vet who has 3 straws he has had for a while.  i just was wondering if it would be worth the expense or if i should go the other route with foreman or another bull.

Look at either Wide Open or I am using Excaliber, both Foreman sons that are purbreds and will give you a half bloods.
