i have shown beef at my county fair for two years now and i really want to take my showing to the next level but im not sure how to acheive that. I live in northwestern WI and seem to have trouble finding shows around me where i dont have to drive halfway across the country.  I was just wondering if anyone had any words or advice or encouragment as to how i could go about working my way into the show world.

These are some Wisconsin shows coming up in the next few months. There isn't much in Northern Wisconsin so you will have to drive a ways just like the rest of us. The first one I listed is a new show this year so it might be a little bit easier than others but we do have pretty good interest going already.

Is there anyone in your county that is also ready to step it up? If so maybe you could travel togeather to some shows, it would save on expenses and also would make it a little less intimidating if you had someone with you.

you are going at it the right way. Just keep takin baby steps, one show at a time. You will learn more this way. Maybe ask a local jock if you and a friend could just tag along to a show. Watchin is learning! Maybe go to a larger show just to watch, force yourself to watch as many classes as you can handle. But make sure you watch the champion classes. This is where you will see the more experienced showperson show. Showmanship is also a good one to watch. The judge will tell each person what they could improve on, or what set them apart from the rest, good or bad.
