Thank you for posting this.  I know it's a cattle forum by there are those of us that love all our show stock. My friend lost her very special showhorse to an accident this week.  Stories like this remind us we may be having what we think is the worst day of our lives when we lose an animal but to lose your child I have often thought is the worst tragedy of all.  I have shared it with my friends and I hope it gives them a new perspective.

On a side note she was going to show a heifer that year. It so happen the kid that showed for us took care of that heifer at the parents house and was name champion commercial at their co fair! Just amazing
