Has anyone used Maverick? Would like to see some pictures of his calves if anyone out there has any to post. Thanks. Also how has his birth weights been?

This is a Maverick that we raised.  It depends what your goals are.  He doesn't throw them very clubby, they have more of a Maine breeding cattle look.  Real thick, plenty of bone, good bodied, performance, sound.  If you want show cattle, breed him to a cow that is nice necked and good through the shoulder.  He won't make them ugly, but they can use a notch more look (for show cattle).

BW that I have seen are 85-90. They seem to be later maturing cattle, cattle that get better and better with time. here is a Maverick heifer we had.

Birth weights - 5 bulls averaged 94.2 and 3 heifers averaged 88.7.  I wouldn't breed a heifer to him, but we have bred 2nd calvers to him.  Never touched one at birth.

If you decide to use him, give the calves time, you will like them more and more as they get older. good luck
