Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!! ;D

You might be a Redneck if......

You've ever had Thanksgiving dinner on a Ping-Pong table.

Thanksgiving dinner is squirrel and dumplings.

You've ever re-used a paper plate.

If you have a complete set of salad bowls and they all say
Cool Whip on the side.

If you've ever used your ironing board as a buffet table.

On Thanksgiving Day you have to decide which pet to eat.

Your turkey platter is an old hub cap.

Your best dishes have Dixie printed on them.

Your stuffings secret ingredient comes from the bait shop.

Your only condiment on the dining room table is ketchup.

Side dishes include beef jerky and Moon Pies.

You have to go outside to get something out of the 'fridge.

The directions to your house include "turn off the paved road".

You consider pork and beans to be a gourmet food.

You have an Elvis Jell-o mold.

Your secret family recipe is illegal.

You serve Vienna Sausage as an appetizer.

This reminds me that so many have it much worse. I'm so grateful for all I have. Thanks for the reminder.

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”  (Psalm 118:24)

I went to the radio station at 5:30 this morning and recorded 5 lessons for the coming week.  I am glad for doctors or I could not have made it.

I want to express my thanks for those who contribute to my education on this thread.  Thanks to D. L. and Red for inviting me.  I read daily but seldom post any more.

We are so blessed.  Thank God.

I am a little late, I have been busy in the kitchen!  Happy Thanksgiving Steer Planet gang!

We like to vent on here, but we all have something to be grateful for.  I hope you all had a great day with friends and family!

I heard on the news that it is the tryptophane (sp?) (amino acid) in turkey that makes you sleepy after you eat it!  One more reason to eat beef!

Happy Thanksgiving!  I'm definitely stuffed.

BTW, it's Tryptophan that's in Calf Calm......a tube of that, and you can feel like it's Thanksgiving all year!

Happy Thanksgiving You Turkeys!!  I hope you're all stuffed and happy by now and the tryptophane is starting to kick in!!

One of my good friends and his family were the ones who presented the turkeys to President Bush this year.    They all stayed at the Willard Hotel across the street from the White House on Tues. night where they were first personally  introduced to the Secret Service.  They attended the presentation with Bush on Wed., and then were taken by a police escorted motorcade to the airport to catch their first class flight to LA and Disneyland.    Today, "Pumpkin" was the Grand Marshall of the Disney parade and the Hills, their son and daughter-in-law and two grandsons got to go along for the ride to take care of Pumpkin and his understudy-"Pecan".  Memorable event for their family and a just reward for great people who have been great ambassadors for agriculture for many, many years.

I haven't talked to them yet, but I understand, that while on "Turkey One", all the travelers are treated to special turkey meals and related activities(trivia, gobbling contests, etc.) and the airline (United this year) does an absolutely great job of making the trip a lot of fun for everyone.  If only we could all be treated like turkeys by the airlines!! Oh, yeah, I guess we usually are!!

Thanksgiving dinner is squirrel and dumplings.

This remindes me of a thanksgiving I had a long time ago where all the guys went out that morning and shot a mess of squirrels (didn't see any quail) and we skinned them and cooked them up in the crock pot and ate them that night for dinner along with left over turkey.
