Hey Everyone!

I currently have a show heifer that we bought last October. When we first brought her home we didnt push her diet like we should have. We do not plan on taking her to a show until at least April.
She is a March heifer that currently weighs just under 1000 lbs. I am looking at ways to add more condition to her with out burning her out to quick. Right now I am feeding her about 14lbs of fitters edge with 8lbs of cracked corn and 5lbs of purina precon. I was wondering if this is to high of a ration or what changes should be made to it.

Feed back would be great! Thank you!

Wow. I don't have any experience with fitters edge or Precon, but 27 lbs a day seems like a lot of feed for a yearling heifer weighing under 1000 lbs. I'm assuming this is a breeding heifer and not a market heifer. If that is the case, I would back her off to around 1.5% of her body weight. You don't want to get a heifer too fat, as it can ruin them for life.
